like most writers, i have very little faith in my own ability and therefore spend most of my time absorbing other people's.

permalink letters to dead people is one of my favourite blogs. i like how it sees - or at least opens my eyes to - subtleties. my lit class just did frankenstein and our discussions on the modern relevance of the book all centred around cloning and stem cells and science. but maybe, to some degree, we have all been enslaved by progress, without stopping to think of the consequences, without really caring until said consequences hit us hard. shelley only used one man - but if society collectively follows the same path, does the evil still stand?
